Description
Commissioned by the Submarine Service.
Ice Exercise (ICEX) is comprised of a series of demanding trials in the Arctic Circle, under the polar ice cap, including exercises against live ‘targets’ to practice tracking and simulated attacks against other submarines, in one of the harshest and most challenging environments on earth.
In 2018 HMS Trenchant joined US submarines USS Connecticut and USS Hartford for drills under the Arctic ice cap.
